The national carbon emission trading market has reached a new record
In 2024, the quota trading and clearance of the national carbon emission trading market was successfully completed. The annual trading volume of carbon emission quota was 189 million tons and the annual trading volume was 18.114 billion yuan, setting a new record for the annual trading volume since its launch in 2021.
The trading price generally rose steadily, and the closing price exceeded 100 for the first time on April 24. The closing price on December 31 was 97.49 yuan/ton, up 103% from the opening price on the first day of July 16, 2021. As of the end of 2024, the national carbon emission trading market had a cumulative trading volume of 630 million tons and a cumulative trading volume of 43.033 billion yuan.
