China Huadian Group: Empowering Development Through DigitalIntelligent Technologies to Deeply Integrate Scientific and Technological Innovation with Industrial Innovation

On September 28, the Party Leadership Group of China Huadian Corporation convened a meeting to convey and study the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping’s recent important speeches and instructions, as well as his important article published in Qiushi journal, and deliberate on measures for implementation. Ye Xiangdong, Secretary of the Party Leadership Group and Chairman, presided over the meeting and delivered remarks. Xu Shubiao, Deputy Secretary of the Party Leadership Group and General Manager, together with group members Wu Jingkai, Zhao Jinshan, Cao Haidong, Jiang Fangshuai and Ma Bingwu, attended the meeting.

The meeting stressed that it is imperative to thoroughly understand and implement the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important speech delivered at the meeting of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, make persistent efforts to advance full and rigorous Party self-governance, and take the Party’s political building as the guide for all Party-building work. We must firmly uphold the “Two Establishments” and resolutely implement the “Two Maintenances”. Continuous efforts shall be made to deepen theoretical armament with the Party’s innovative theories, thoroughly study and implement Xi Jinping Thought on Party Building, and make thorough preparations for studying the spirit of the Fifth Plenary Session of the 20th CPC Central Committee. We shall fully enforce the political responsibility for exercising full and rigorous Party self-governance, consolidate and expand achievements from the learning and education campaign on fostering and practicing a correct view of political performance, and establish and improve the system for full and rigorous Party self-governance. Great importance shall be attached to improving Party conduct and building a clean and honest Party, unswervingly enforce the Central Eight-Point Regulation, further advance the initiative to build “Three-Clean Enterprises”, and sustain a sound environment for governing the Party and running the enterprise.

The meeting held that General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important instructions elaborate on the guiding ideology, key principles, development goals and priority tasks for advancing advanced manufacturing in the new journey, serving as a program of action and scientific guideline for the development of advanced manufacturing in the new era. The Group shall further fulfill its mission in boosting advanced manufacturing. Centering on the requirements for developing a new-type energy system and a new-type power system, it will advance research on core technologies in key areas and enhance capacity for independent controllability. Staying focused on its primary business, the Group will follow the direction of intelligence, green transition and integrated development to foster new-quality productive forces at a faster pace. It will leverage digital-intelligent empowerment to deepen the integration of scientific-technological innovation and industrial innovation, and contribute greater strength to building a manufacturing powerhouse and advancing Chinese-style modernization.

The meeting required that the Group step up basic research tailored to industrial development needs, expand cooperation with universities, research institutions and upstream-downstream enterprises, improve supporting mechanisms, build a stronger talent pool for basic research, and deliver new outcomes in basic research to underpin the building of a country strong in science and technology.

Assistant Presidents, Chief Engineers, Deputy Chief Engineers of the Group, and principal heads of various departments and relevant central institutions attended the meeting as non-voting participants.
