The 2024 Power Reliability Index Press Conference was held in Beijing

On June 24, the National Energy Administration and the China Electric Power Enterprise Federation jointly announced the 2024 yearElectricity reliabilityindex. Huang Xuenong, Director of Supervision of the National Energy Administration, attended the meeting and delivered a speech.

The 2023 electricity reliability indicators were released at the meeting. In 2023, the average power supply reliability rate of users of power supply systems nationwide was 99.911%, an increase of 0.015 percentage points year-on-year; the average power outage time for users was 7.83 hours per household, a decrease of 1.27 hours per household; the average power outage frequency of users was 2.30 times per household, a decrease of 0.31 times per household. Among them, the average power supply reliability rate of urban power grid users across the country is 99.976%, and the average power supply reliability rate of rural power grids is 99.900%. The Security Department of the National Energy Administration summarized the work of power reliability management in the previous stage and arranged and deployed key tasks in the next stage.

The meeting pointed out that in order to conscientiously implement the spirit of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China and thoroughly implement the new energy security strategy, the power reliability management work focuses on the high-quality development of the energy industry, and focuses on ensuring reliable power supply and support.Electricity safetyProduction and improvement of high-quality power services, adhere to problem-oriented approach, carry out reforms in power reliability management, further improve work system, supervision system and guarantee measures, and steadily promote various work tasks of power reliability management reform, achieving remarkable results and promoting high-quality development of the power industry.

The meeting emphasized that the power industry should further improve its political stance, conscientiously implement the requirements of the CPC Central Committee, the State Council and relevant departments on energy and electricity supply, implement the political responsibility of power supply, strengthen energy and electricity monitoring and early warning, closely track electricity use, incoming water, power coal, unit output, etc., make detailed and practical work plans, resolutely maintain the bottom line of power supply without pulling the gate, and ensure that people's livelihood electricity use is foolproof.

The meeting required that all departments and units should conscientiously implement General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important instructions and requirements for flood prevention and drought relief, pay close attention to meteorological changes, strengthen flood monitoring and forecasting and early warning, accurately analyze the work situation, continue to strengthen hidden danger inspections and patrol defense in key areas and weak links of flood prevention, ensure normal production and living order, and organize power emergency rescue and disaster relief in a timely manner to minimize disaster losses.

Relevant departments, reliability and quality supervision centers of the National Energy Administration, responsible persons of member units of enterprises in Beijing, major power equipment manufacturers of relevant industry associations attended the meeting at the main venue; relevant responsible persons of power management departments of various provinces, dispatched agencies, and member units of enterprise outside Beijing attended the meeting at the branch venue.
