Baosteel Technology participates in the evaluation and monitoring of the first ultra-low emission transformation project in the domestic steel industry

Polaris Atmosphere News: On January 2, 2019, Chen Derong, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of China Baowu, proposed at the 2019 Work Safety and Energy and Environmental Protection Work Conference and the First Meeting of the Group Company's Safety and Production Committee that fighting the tough battle of environmental protection is a political task of central enterprises. We must redefine "urban steel mills" and make steel mills an important "organ" of the city. Through the "three treatments", we must achieve ultra-low emissions of waste gas, zero emissions of wastewater, and no solid waste leaves the factory, so as to achieve "cleaning, greening, beautification, and culture" of the environment.

On April 28, 2019, the Ministry of Ecology and Environment of the State officially issued the "Opinions on Promoting the Implementation of Ultra-Low Emissions in the Steel Industry" (Huandaqi [2019] No. 35), which put forward clear requirements for ultra-low emissions in the steel industry and launched a pilot project in Shougang. Under the guidance of this national policy, the National Atmospheric Department and the Environmental Monitoring Station jointly drafted the "Technical Guidelines for Evaluation of Ultra-Low Emission Transformation Projects in the Steel Industry", and led by the National Environmental Station to conduct a two-week assessment and monitoring of the ultra-low emission transformation project of Shougang Qian'an Steel Company.

On the morning of August 26, the project launch meeting was held at Shougang Reconstruction Steel. As the main participant in the evaluation and monitoring of the first pilot project, Baosteel Technology will monitor 70-80% of the fixed emission sources.

Through the practice of this project, it will be conducive to further familiarizing yourself with the ultra-low steel emission assessment process, accumulating evaluation and monitoring experience, and providing basis and guidance for the subsequent declaration of enterprise environmental performance grades and emergency emission reduction in key industries in Baowu bases in China, and to support China Baowu to accelerate the construction of a green urban steel plant that is "higher than standards, better than cities, and integrated into cities", and to jointly build a high-quality steel ecosystem!
