The National Science and Technology Support Program project led by Oriental Turbine has successfully passed the acceptance

Recently, the Ministry of Science and Technology organized an acceptance meeting of the National Science and Technology Support Plan "Development and Application of High-Efficiency Wide Load Ultra-Supercritical Thermal Power Units" project in Zhengzhou. The project was led by Oriental Electric Group Oriental Turbine Co., Ltd. At the acceptance meeting, the experts fully affirmed the achievements made by the project and unanimously agreed that the scientific research project had completed the prescribed research tasks and various assessment indicators, and the project successfully passed the acceptance.

Since 2010, clean energy has developed rapidly, my country's energy and electricity structure has been continuously optimized, and power generation has become cleaner and more efficient. Since the contradiction between unbalanced supply, energy storage and consumption will continue for a long time, flexible and efficient high-parameter and large-capacity thermal power super-supercritical units are not only the guarantee of grid load, but also the main force in deep peak shaving of the grid. According to the "Special Supervision Report on Energy Conservation, Emission Reduction and Power Generation Scheduling in East China" released by the National Energy Administration in 2015, from January to September 2014, the power generation load rate of coal-fired units in East China was basically between 67% and 75%, and the power generation load rate of coal-fired units in Central China was basically between 63% and 73%. This makes it impossible for the steam turbine units designed with basic load to exert the advantages of high efficiency in the design load point, resulting in unnecessary economic losses. Therefore, the development of a highly efficient and wide load-rate ultra-supercritical unit is a problem that new energy technology needs to solve urgently.

The project has been launched in 2015. Oriental Electric Group Oriental Turbine Co., Ltd. is responsible for the research on the project "Development of 1000MW high efficiency and wide load rate ultra-supercritical turbines", and other power equipment manufacturers participated. The research results of this project make the efficiency of the benchmark ultra-supercritical units under rated loads comparable to that of the benchmark ultra-supercritical units. The unit efficiency increase is no less than 3% under 50% load compared with the benchmark units, marking that Oriental Turbine has formed a super-supercritical high-efficiency wide-load steam turbine technology with independent intellectual property rights. The technical indicators have reached the international leading level, achieved a comprehensive upgrade of steam turbine technology, and improved the efficient wide-load operation capability of my country's super-supercritical units, with significant economic and social benefits.
