Recently, centralized charging stations have been deployed in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, Hainan Free Trade Zone, as well as key cities in Guangxi, Yunnan and Guizhou to achieve full coverage of the fast charging network of intercity expressways in the five southern provinces and regions.

Developing new energy vehicles is the only way for my country to move from a major automobile country to a strong automobile country. Promoting the construction of charging infrastructure is a strong guarantee for implementing this strategy.

From January to March, the Southern Power Grid invested a total of nearly 30 million yuan in charging infrastructure, and 5 charging stations and 86 charging piles officially started construction, with a planned annual investment of 1.2 billion yuan to build charging infrastructure.

As of December 2019, China Southern Power Grid Corporation has invested a total of 3.18 billion yuan and built 31,600 self-built charging piles.

In early March, China Southern Power Grid launched four cooperation models: "site, fleet, charging station, and sales channels" to the public, and issued a wide invitation to cooperate in the construction of charging piles to the whole society. In just one month, domestic famous universities, scientific research institutions and other fields, as well as upstream and downstream enterprises in the automobile industry chain have successively put forward olive branches, and related cooperation is being actively promoted.

It is understood that in terms of charging station construction, Southern Power Grid has created the Lianhuashan charging station with the "substation + charging station" model in the country, adopting the "spontaneous self-use and surplus power grid" operation model to promote the transformation of traditional substations to comprehensive energy stations.

In fact, charging piles are not only independent and physical, but also involve new infrastructure fields such as 5G, big data, and industrial Internet. Smart charging networks are also part of smart cities. The construction, operation and maintenance of cloud platforms and the analysis and management of big data are crucial. At the end of 2019, Southern Power Grid completed the integration of seven electric vehicle charging platforms in the five southern provinces and regions, realizing that "Shunyi Charging" an app travels to five southern provinces and regions. At present, the registered users of the "Shunyi Charging" platform of the Southern Power Grid have increased from 300,000 to 470,000, and there are 130,000 interconnected charging piles. From January to March, the platform has completed 2.51 million charges, with a charge of 59 million kilowatt-hours, saving 42 million liters of fuel, and reducing motor vehicle pollutant emissions by 63.98 million tons.

At the end of 2019, the Southern Power Grid Company issued and implemented the "Opinions of the Southern Power Grid Company on Further Accelerating the Development of Electric Vehicle Charging Service Business", which clarified the strategic positioning, development goals, business layout and management system and mechanism of the Southern Power Grid's electric vehicle service business. At the same time, a charging infrastructure investment and construction plan was formulated from 2020 to 2023, and regional electric vehicle operation companies were established in five southern provinces and regions, focusing on the planning and construction of "centralized fast charging stations", and promoting the leapfrog development of its charging infrastructure through investment and foreign mergers and acquisitions, and building an electric vehicle service ecosystem.
