In the clear and quiet lake water, beautiful black swans are leisurely cruising, playing, foraging, and combing each other's feathers - this is not a corner of the park, but a scene in the Dagang Oilfield of China Petroleum.

The construction of ecological oil fields is a vivid portrayal of the oil and gas industry's exploration of green development. It is located in the east of the Bohai Sea, and the Dagang Oilfield has abundant underground oil and gas resources, and there are many environmentally sensitive areas. In order to ensure that production and environmental protection are in line with the greatest extent, Dagang Oilfield has formulated an exit plan for oilfield development and production in five environmentally sensitive areas, including Beidagang Wetland Reserve and Bird Nature Reserve, and closed more than 130 oil and gas wells in the environmentally sensitive areas. "We must start from top-level design, explore new development models of regional green and smart energy, and form new growth points for efficiency." Zhao Xianzheng, executive director of Dagang Oilfield, said that incorporating "green and low-carbon" into the company's development strategy system will not only rely on natural gas, but also promote the geothermal and photovoltaic power generation industries, and will unswervingly "reduce carbon, use carbon, replace carbon, and bury carbon" to paint a picture of high-quality development.

Since my country proposed to achieve the goal of carbon peak and carbon neutrality, the energy industry hasCarbon reductionThe action has achieved positive results. Energy companies not only focus on the planning concept of "how to reduce carbon", but also actively fulfill their main responsibilities of "realizing carbon reduction", and take solid steps and strong steps in accelerating the construction of a clean, low-carbon, safe and efficient energy system.

Traditional industries transform to "green" to "new"

Accelerating the evolution of the energy structure towards low-carbon and zero-carbon directions and promoting the development of renewable energy is becoming a concerted action by energy companies.

Traditional oil and gas companies represented by the "three barrels of oil" were the first to show their "roadmap". CNPC will vigorously promote the large-scale development of new energy business, and by 2035, the production capacity of new energy and new business is "three parts of the world" with oil and gas; Sinopec will regard hydrogen energy as the main direction of new energy business, and plans to build 1,000 hydrogen refueling stations during the "14th Five-Year Plan" period, committed to becoming China's first hydrogen energy company; CNPC strives to achieve carbon peak in 2028 and achieve carbon neutrality by 2050, which is two years and a full ten years ahead of the national-level carbon peak carbon neutrality target.

Coal enterprises also played the green energy card. The world's largest coal production company, the State Energy Group, is promoting the green transformation of the entire coal-electricity and chemical transportation industry chain, and has built a total of 34 national-level green mines and 36 provincial-level and above green mines. At the same time, we will orderly lay out emerging industries such as hydrogen energy and energy storage. This year, we plan to start construction of 20 million kilowatts and put into production of 15 million kilowatts of new energy projects. The 14th Five-Year Plan will add 90 million kilowatts of new energy installed capacity.

To promote the transformation of the energy structure, we must do a good job in coal and electricity. The "Action Plan for Carbon Peak Before 2030" issued by the State Council last year has already clarified the transformation and upgrading direction of coal-fired power - strictly control new coal-fired power projects and promote the transformation of coal-fired power to both basic guarantee and system-regulated power.

Guo Zhijian, Party Secretary of Jiangxi Huaneng Qinmeiruijin Power Plant, told reporters that the company is accelerating its low-carbon transformation. Based on the important support and flexible peak-shaving effect of 2.7 million kilowatts of low-carbon clean coal-fired power for new energy, it strives to build a multi-energy complementary comprehensive smart energy base with integrated wind, light, fire, storage, heat, and solid waste treatment within 50 kilometers, including eight major projects such as heating pipeline network, photovoltaic, wind power, thermal power flexibility transformation, electrochemical energy storage, etc. "If the traditional energy industry continues to fight alone, it will be difficult for it to continue in the wave of low-carbon transformation."

Forces enterprises to innovate technologically

Energy conservation and carbon reduction are the inherent requirements and inevitable path for the high-quality development of energy enterprises. "In the past, Wuhai Energy Pinggou Coal Mine has been using traditional coal-fired boilers for heating, producing a large amount of smoke and harmful gases, polluting the environment. Later, after using waste heat to heat, the entire mine reduced the use of LNG by more than 1.5 million cubic meters and reduced carbon dioxide emissions by more than 2,800 tons." A person from Wuhai Energy of the State Energy Group introduced that in recent years, the company has vigorously carried out scientific and technological innovation, promoted and applied intelligent mining technology, increased the utilization of mine water and domestic sewage, and eliminated high-energy-consuming equipment, and embarked on a new development path of efficient production systems, effective energy consumption reduction, and dynamic environmental protection compliance.

The power industry is the main contributor to my country's carbon emissions and is also a difficult "hard bone" to reduce carbon and decarbonize. Sun Chuanwang, professor at the China Energy Economics Research Center of Xiamen University, believes that reducing carbon in the power industry should promote three major technological innovations: first, power generation technology, focusing on further reducing costs and increasing efficiency in wind and light power generation, exploring the development potential of geothermal power generation, biomass energy generation and other technologies; second, energy storage technology, strengthening the transformation of electrochemical energy storage technology, increasing R&D investment in long-term energy storage such as compressed air energy storage and hydrogen energy storage; finally, transmission technology, increasing the research and development of ultra-high voltage and virtual power plants, and promoting the flexibility of existing transmission equipment. In addition, we must deeply explore and apply technologies such as "big cloud objects, mobile and intelligent chains" to promote the coordination and linkage of various nodes of "source, network, and load storage" to improve the level of informatization and intelligence of the power system.

The oil and gas industry is also seeking new technologies and new paths for carbon reduction. "my country's energy endowment and renewable energy installation scale, which are rich in coal, poor in oil and less gas, cannot fully meet the needs of large-scale industrial development. Energy structure optimization and low-carbon transformation must rely on scientific and technological innovation to find a way to reduce emissions." In the view of Ma Jinfeng, a professor at the Department of Geology at Northwest University, CCUS (carbon capture, utilization and storage) is currently the only technical choice for the low-carbon utilization of fossil energy. However, my country's CCUS technology is still in the early stage of exploration, and it is necessary to work together from three aspects: improving policy mechanisms, improving laws and regulations standards and statistical monitoring systems, and strengthening technical research and promotion and application.

Carbon reduction and rush

How to grasp the rhythm and intensity of carbon reduction is to prevent the simplification of "one-size-fits-all" and prevent the poor transformation from causing backwardness and ineffective investment, which is testing the wisdom of energy companies.

Dealing with the relationship between carbon reduction and supply guarantee is a major test question. In Sun Chuanwang's view, supply and carbon reduction are both important means for my country to achieve low-carbon transformation. Supply guarantee is the basis for carbon reduction. Stable energy supply can effectively prevent and resolve energy security risks and promote a smooth transition of the traditional energy system to a clean, low-carbon, safe and efficient modern energy system; carbon reduction is the purpose of supply guarantee, and it is necessary to promote the clean and efficient use of traditional energy, but also continuously improve the supply capacity and consumption level of clean energy. Therefore, we should coordinate energy supply and energy conservation and carbon reduction, establish a time-time and space-time linkage mechanism for ensuring supply and carbon reduction, and promote the development of non-fossil energy and the clean utilization of fossil energy.

Carbon reduction and rush, we must implement precise measures based on the directions and priorities of energy conservation and carbon reduction in different enterprises. Sun Jie, chief sustainability officer of Vision Technology Group, suggested that the most urgent task is to conduct a survey and grasp the source and total carbon emissions in the production process, so as to systematically, visually and normalize carbon management. On this basis, measures will be formulated based on the actual situation of the enterprise, such as energy conservation and efficiency improvement, increasing the proportion of new energy use, etc., and digital technology will be used to manage energy consumption and carbon emissions in real time, supplemented by carbon emission reduction and carbon trading.

Enterprises must also calculate the "economic account" when saving energy and reducing carbon. "The key is to find the connection between its own business and low-carbon transformation." Industry insiders emphasized that, on the one hand, enterprises should avoid one-sided pursuit of energy conservation and carbon reduction results and blindly expand investment; on the other hand, they should transform business-level measures into products and solutions, and promote the transformation of social innovation capabilities into commercial value.

Currently, the countryCarbon marketThe basic framework has been initially established. According to data from China Electric Power Union, as of October 28, the cumulative transaction volume of power generation companies in the national carbon market reached 196 million tons, with a cumulative transaction amount of 8.6 billion yuan, and the role of the price discovery mechanism has begun to appear. In the future, with the continuous addition of more key carbon emission fields and the advancement of energy conservation and emission reduction work, the price of carbon quota will continue to rise, thereby guiding the low-carbon transformation of energy enterprises in an orderly manner.
