The rise in electricity prices swept the world, and the household energy storage market may usher in a big explosion!

Polaris Energy Storage Network learned that electricity prices have risen in many countries recently, and residents are suffering from high electricity bills!

According to the "Energy White Paper" released by Japan in 2022, compared with January 2019, the EU increased by 40%, the United States increased by 10%, and Japan also increased by 10%.

As a new round of electricity price increases swept across many places, residents have started a "self-rescue mode" one after another, and the demand for household energy storage has grown rapidly! By installing energy storage facilities, residents can charge when electricity prices are low, and when electricity prices soar, they use stored electricity to save electricity bills.

According to statistics from the North Star Energy Storage Network,From June to July 2022, 16 countries and regions including Germany, Japan, South Korea, France, the United Kingdom, the United States announced news of rising electricity prices, details are as follows:

USA

On March 18, United Edison Electric Power, which supplies electricity and gas to 3.5 million users, said that in January, the electricity bills required to pay for every 300 kilowatt-hour of electricity used by New York residents soared from $82.8 in December to $123.65, an increase of up to 50%.

According to the U.S. Energy Information Administration, the average unit price of household electricity in 2022 will be 14.31 cents per kilowatt-hour (approximately RMB 0.96), an increase of 4.3% year-on-year. The average monthly electricity consumption of households is about 900 kWh, which will increase by about $60 per year.

U.K.

From 12:00 to 13:00 on July 20, the highest price of cross-border electricity transactions through the Nemo interconnect system of the UK-Bi Power Grid reached 9724.54 pounds/MWh, setting the highest price ever paid for imported electricity in the UK. This figure is about 55 times the average domestic electricity price in the UK (excluding tax) in 2020, and 46 times the average monthly price of the UK market from January to March this year.

The UK's forward electricity prices also soared to the sky, from £242/MWh in June to £1,000/MWh.

The electricity price of British utilities was pushed to a record £9724.54 (about $11,685), which is 5,000% higher than the average electricity price of £178 (about $215).

Italy

From June 27 to July 3, the average purchase price of GME electricity was 362.05 EUR/MWh, up 34.51 EUR/MWh from the previous week.

Singapore

On June 30, Singapore's household appliance bills will increase by 8.1% month-on-month in the next quarter. After the price increase, the electricity bill will not include 7% of the consumption tax per kilowatt-hour, which is 30.17 cents per kilowatt-hour, the highest price since January 2009. This is also the sixth consecutive quarter of electricity bills.

Sri Lanka

On August 9, Sri Lanka's largest state-owned power company, Ceylon Power Authority, announced that it will make its first significant price increase in nine years starting from the 10th to make up for its cumulative losses of up to US$616 million.

Among the 7.8 million households with monthly electricity consumption less than 90 kWh, two-thirds of the electricity bills increased by 264%, while users with more electricity paid about 80% more. For users with the lowest power consumption, the charge will be increased from the current Rs 2.5 per unit to Rs 8. For consumers who consume more electricity, the charge per unit will be adjusted from Rs 45 to Rs 75.

Belgium

On August 16, Belgium's electricity price hit a new record, with an average price of more than 540 euros per megawatt-hour. The absolute peak on August 17 occurred between 19:00 and 20:00, with Belgium's power supply cost of 747.93 euros per MWh.

Sweden

On August 17, on the Nordic Power Exchange market, the electricity price in southern Sweden reached a record 5.69 Swedish kroner per kilowatt-hour, or about RMB 3.71.

Denmark

On the evening of August 17, Danish electricity prices hit a record high in local time, with the price of 1 kilowatt-hour (1 kilowatt-hour) reaching 8.42 Danish kroner (about 7.81 yuan). According to Danish national electricity data, this is the highest level in 12 years.

Finland

On August 24, Finnish Minister of Economic Affairs Lindilai posted his home appliance price list, which showed that the current electricity price used by Lindilai's family is 49 euro cents per kilowatt-hour (about 3.36 yuan), which has soared by 463% compared with the previous price of 8.7 euro cents per kilowatt-hour (about 0.6 yuan).

Spain

On August 24, Spain's electricity prices will surge 20% again to 436 euros per megawatt-hour.

France/Germany

On August 26, the base load electricity price delivered by France next year reached 1,130 euros per megawatt-hour, exceeding 1,000 euros for the first time in history, an intraday increase of 25%, an increase of about 10 times compared with last year.

Germany's intraday gains reached 33% to 995 euros per megawatt-hour, with a cumulative increase of about 70% in recent days.

On August 26, the electricity price in France reached 1,020 euros/megawatt-hour, and the electricity price in Germany also reached 855 euros/megawatt-hour. On the same day last year, electricity prices in France and Germany were around 87 euros per megawatt-hour.

On August 27, electricity prices in France rose to 1,130 euros/megawatt-hour, and electricity prices in Germany rose to 995 euros/megawatt-hour. Converted, France's kilowatt-hour electricity was 1.13 euros (about 7.74 yuan), while France's kilowatt-hour electricity was 0.995 euros (about 6.8 yuan). Compared with the same period last year, electricity prices in France have risen by about 13 times, while electricity prices in Germany have risen by more than 11 times.

South Korea

On August 27, South Korean Electric Power Company stated that the adjustment fee for linkage fuel in each kilowatt-hour of electricity bill in the third quarter was increased by 5 won (approximately RMB 0.03). Assuming that the monthly electricity consumption of four-person households is 307 kWh, they will have to pay an additional electricity bill of about 1,535 won per month.

Japan

As of August, Tokyo's electricity bills have risen for 12 consecutive months. In August, the average household price increased by about 250 yen compared with July, and rose to about 9,120 yen (about 459.3 yuan), with an increase of 30% in a year. The price of electricity in central Japan has also increased by about 230 yen to about 8,750 yen (about 440.7 yuan).

Greece

In August, major Greek power supply companies announced their latest electricity prices in September, with electricity prices rising from 0.75 euros to 1 euro, an increase of up to 65%.

Ireland

From October 1, the unit price of electricity will be increased by 45.2%, and the electricity bill will increase by about 1.62 euros per day.
