Establishment of the Green and Low-Carbon Standardization Technical Committee of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology
To further leverage the supporting and guiding role of standards in advancing the green and low-carbon development of the industry, the Green and Low-Carbon Standardization Technical Committee (hereinafter referred to as the “Committee”) under the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) has been formally established. The first session of the Committee consists of 71 members from government authorities, affiliated institutions, research institutes, universities, industry associations and leading enterprises. Its secretariat is hosted by the China Electronics Standardization Institute. Recently, the Committee reviewed and adopted institutional documents including its charter, secretariat working rules, and procedures for the formulation and revision of standards, so as to advance the institutionalized and standardized operation of its work.
Going forward, the Committee will thoroughly implement the requirements set forth at the meeting of the MIIT Standardization Work Leading Group. It will coordinate standardization bodies across various industries, strengthen the pre-research, formulation and revision of standards covering energy conservation and carbon reduction, water conservation and emission reduction, cleaner production, comprehensive utilization of resources, green manufacturing and other fields, and scale up efforts in standard promotion and implementation.
