NEA: High-standard Implementation of 15th Five-Year Energy Plan

On June 18, the National Energy Administration held an expanded meeting of the Party Leadership Group and a meeting of the Party Building Work Leading Group. The meeting conveyed the spirit of the National Forum on Party Building Work, studied and implemented General Secretary Xi Jinping’s Thought on Party Building, and deliberated on implementation measures. Wang Hongzhi, Secretary of the Party Leadership Group, Director of the National Energy Administration and Head of the Administration’s Party Building Work Leading Group, presided over the meeting and delivered a speech.

The meeting pointed out that General Secretary Xi Jinping’s Thought on Party Building is an integral component of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era. The thought clearly puts forward the "Fourteen Insistences", which comprehensively and profoundly elaborate on the supreme principle, strategic guideline, value pursuit, work layout and methodology for Party building in the new era. Rich in connotations and rigorous in logic, it serves as the fundamental guideline for strengthening Party building in the new era. We must raise our political stance and strengthen our political accountability, and regard the study and implementation of General Secretary Xi Jinping’s Thought on Party Building as a major political task for now and the period ahead. From the political perspective of advancing the great cause of building a great modern socialist country and realizing national rejuvenation, advancing the new great project of Party building in the new era, and upholding and strengthening the Party’s overall leadership over energy work, we must carry out relevant work earnestly and effectively. We should take concrete actions to deeply understand the decisive significance of the "Two Establishments", strengthen the Four Consciousnesses, bolster the Four-Sphere Confidence, and uphold the Two Maintenances, strive to march in the front ranks and set a good example in three aspects.

The meeting stressed that we must adhere to reading original works, studying original texts and grasping the essence, thoroughly study important works, speeches and institutional documents in their original forms, fully comprehend the internal logic and core essence of the "Fourteen Insistences", and accurately grasp the stance, viewpoints and methods running through them, so as to understand not only what they are but also why they are so. We must integrate theory with practice, combine the study and implementation of General Secretary Xi Jinping’s Thought on Party Building with the spirit of the Fourth Plenary Session of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, the learning and education campaign on fostering and practicing a correct view of performance, as well as the implementation of General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important speeches and instructions on energy work. We shall leverage various platforms and adopt diverse forms to guide Party members and cadres to thoroughly learn and understand the scientific system, rich connotations, spiritual essence and practical requirements of General Secretary Xi Jinping’s Thought on Party Building, and continuously boost political, ideological and operational consciousness in its implementation.

The meeting required all departments and affiliated institutions of the Administration to fully shoulder and consolidate the political responsibility of exercising full and strict Party self-governance. We shall always benchmark ourselves against the standards and requirements of the "Fourteen Insistences", sort out and identify weaknesses in Party building, plan and advance Party building work, and formulate more targeted, clear-cut and pragmatic measures. We will advance learning and education campaigns and the "Year of Party Branch Improvement" initiative with high quality, implement the 15th Five-Year Energy Plan with high standards, and guarantee people’s demand for energy for a better life at a high level, so as to break new ground in boosting high-quality energy development through high-quality Party building.
